de tafelwip

The situation of the family table has been overinterpreted in literature, cinema, theatre. It is therefore logical that the designers too investigate this matter.. So here you have a nice and ironic solution playing with the problem: De tafelwip by the Dutch designer Marleen Jansen, presented on the occasion of DDW.

This is a table for two with see-saw seating (reminding of the rocking attraction you find in the recreation grounds), preventing disputes: in fact, when one leaves the table the other immediately ends up on the floor. May be it is a bit uncomfortable, but at least you will not have to eat up your dinner all alone.
